Today I accompanied my wife to an appointment to get a sonogram done and whenever I tried to accompany her in the back Not only was I told that I couldn't but the receptionist and the technician made me feel as if I was stupid for even trying to accompany my wife in the back. Unfortunately I don't know all the technical aspects of the procedure but I do know that if they were a little more sensitive to my wife's apprehension they wouldn't have treated me as if I was an idiot for wanting to go back there. This behavior is totally unacceptable especially when you are dealing with patience on a daily basis as well as other patients that are there to receive procedures that they are already a little apprehensive because of the doctors concerned thus having them to go to your office because of a concern. My wife and I are not Physicians but I do believe the every patient has the right to be treated with decency and respect. Normally I would not go through with voicing a concern of mine because I would chalk it up to possible inexperience by the staff but I have seen the receptionist and the technician at this Los Banos branch before so maybe they need to be reeducated so that they are more sensitive to the patients needs.
